Rev. David Cook,
Associate Pastor for Worship and Arts
My name is Dave Cook and I have been the Worship Pastor at OBC since 2010. Most of my time here is dedicated to our Sunday Morning Worship and to shepherding our people alongside the Elders and other Pastors, with a particular eye toward encouraging those who have creative gifts. The whole point, for me, is to show anyone and everyone that Jesus Christ is worthy of all worship.
My wife Emily and I washed ashore on the Cape in 2010 with our 10-week old daughter Sarah. Since then, Sarah has grown and God has given us two more children, Josiah and a baby girl due anytime. Apart from those adventures, I like to explore the Cape with my camera, explore the strings of a guitar, and explore anything with a good book.
I was born and raised in the lakes and cypress swamps of Central Florida, until I went to Flagler College in St. Augustine for a B.A. in Graphic Design and then to Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY for a M.A. in Worship.
There are rich joys here at OBC, but my favorite is when the whole church comes together and sings the Good News like we mean it, truly encouraging each other with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. God is captivating hearts here with glimpses of His glory, and it’s very special not only to be a part of the singing on Sunday, but to walk with those same people through the week and see how He is changing their whole lives.
